ISO (image brightness)

hello creative photographers , let's start from one of the most important basics in photography , the "ISO" stands for " international organization for standardization " . but simply iso is a camera setting that brighten or darken a photo , more simply it controls the exposure of light that enters your camera . as you increase your ISO number from camera setting your photo will be more bright ,  which helps you to capture photos in dark places , and as you decrease your iso from setting it will lower the brightness of your photo . 

Every camera has a range of ISO values that differs from another , the lowest number is usually around 100 , and then each number is doubled which means double the brightness until the Max ISO for your camera (100 (low) , 200,400,800,1600,3200,6400 (high)). but raising  may cause consequences , for example a photo taken at too high of an iso will be grainy , it means you will see a lot of  small dots in your image . 

in this photo as you increase the iso to get a brighter photo it makes it noisy and it lost it's shallow feeling , so that's why we need to make sure we're setting the iso on it's right value . another thing to look for is the over exposed image and the under exposed image , over exposed means you set the ISO to a high number while there is already enough light for the camera to capture , for example you set the iso on 1000 while you shoot in the morning , the sunlight is already enough light to your camera .but under exposed is when you set the Iso to a low number(100,200) at night when there is no enough light to capture the photo .

those examples are 3 photos I took in  different exposure level to show you how iso number can effect you photo , However in the good exposure photo iso 400 I did some edits to colors and situation but if you tried to do this on a low or high exposed photo it won't work anyway . and this will take us to another basic which is file Format . any professional photographer prefers to shoot on RAW , so why RAW? when you shoot in a format JPEG the image information is compressed . but , no information is compressed with RAW so it give you the opportunity to produce a higher quality images and also it makes you get more details in your photo and most importantly that you can always reset your adjustments in editing , it makes you apply to change everything in the photo starting from espouse to every color on this image .but you have to know that a RAW image takes more space than a JPEG one.
